Volunteers Needed for National Sight Week

Next month, the ASCRS Foundation will host its 2nd annual National Sight Week initiative, October 15-21. The goal of National Sight Week is to raise awareness about needless cataract blindness in the United States by performing as many chariatble cataract surgeries as possible during the one-week period. National Sight Week is a part of our domestic charitable eye care program, Operation Sight.

Cataracts are not just a medical issue in developing countries. Here in the United States there are neighbors in our communities who are uninsured – or underinsured - and cannot afford care on their own. These individuals may rely on others to complete their daily tasks, and if left untreated, risk complete vision loss.
