Volunteers Needed for National Sight Week

Next month, the ASCRS Foundation will host its 2nd annual National Sight Week initiative, October 15-21. The goal of National Sight Week is to raise awareness about needless cataract blindness in the United States by performing as many chariatble cataract surgeries as possible during the one-week period. National Sight Week is a part of our domestic charitable eye care program, Operation Sight.

Volunteer Spotlight: David H. Yi, MD

The highlight of David H. Yi, MD’s trip to Haiti was when the bandages were removed from a patient’s face the day after surgery. With the first blink, the woman’s face lit up with a smile, and with the second blink she jumped to her feet and began a joyous dance. A dance to celebrate her ability to see again.
