National Sight Week October 20th-26th

Operation Sight is the ASCRS Foundation's U.S.-based charitable cataract surgery program. Our nationwide network of volunteer surgeons and staff members have provided over 3,350 free surgeries to those unable to access or afford cataract surgery on their own.

Tomorrow – June 1st – marks the first day of National Cataract Awareness Month! In recognition, I am pleased to announce that the ASCRS Foundation will host its 4th Annual National Sight Week initiative, October 20th-26th. Our goal this year is not only to exceed the more than 300 surgeries completed during last year’s National Sight Week, but to continue to raise overall awareness of the Operation Sight program.

National Sight Week is a celebration of volunteerism, during which members of the ASCRS Operation Sight network are encouraged to contribute one or more charitable cataract surgeries in their own communities. The ASCRS Foundation works to match needy, eligible patients with volunteer surgeons, and provides a financial stipend for each surgery completed.

Here is how you can you celebrate National Cataract Awareness Month by getting ready for this year's National Sight Week.
