Over the last six days, our network of amazing volunteer surgeons and ophthalmic staff members have provided hundreds of sight-restoring surgeries to needy Operation Sight patients. Among those was the program’s milestone 4,000th free surgery!
“I just wanted to tell you all how much I appreciate you all in helping me get cataract surgery. Everything went awesome. I have never seen see more clearly and am now able to drive at night again. Its awesome being able to wake up and to be able to see.
National Sight Week is a celebration of volunteerism, during which members of the ASCRS Foundation’s Operation Sight network are encouraged to contribute one or more charitable surgeries in their own communities. During this week we would like to thank and acknowledge the entire Operation Sight volunteer network for helping us give the gift of sight to those Americans most in need.
